About 21st Century Equity Research
21st Century Equity Research provides independent sell-side equity research on unique, under-followed, small and micro cap publicly-traded companies across multiple industries to institutional clients. Sales and earnings estimates are posted on the major financial websites. We also provide a continuous flow of non-published investment ideas to our institutional clients. We believe that insightful and timely analysis on our covered companies, access to management, and ongoing investment ideas represent meaningful value to our institutional clients. Our stock-picking performance was formerly monitored by the alpha capture system First Coverage until its acquisition by the TIM Group. Our 2010 final global ranking on the First Coverage platform was 12 out of 800+ sell-side analysts based on absolute return. For the first 6 months of 2011 our global ranking was 25. Our coverage performance has outperformed all the relevant benchmarks. Please see more details in the “Performance Update” section.
Our investment style is best classified as "GARP" (Growth At a Reasonable Price). We focus predominantly on scrutinizing the macro and demand-side trends which underlie the sustainability of company growth. A mosaic demand story for each company is continuously fed by data from the public domain. We tend to favor EV/EBITDA as a valuation metric in order to consider the current state of the balance sheet and cash flow potential in addition to the baseline operating metrics of the business. Most of the companies we follow have significant operations outside of the U.S.
21st Century Equity Research also provides company-sponsored research to small and micro-cap companies. Our research service includes an initiation report, quarterly updates, and special event reporting. The initiation report is a comprehensive assessment comprising an investment thesis, industry and company background, risk landscape, and financial models. We also arrange periodic meetings with institutional investors. In addition to being posted on our web site, research is also posted on First Call, FactSet, Capital IQ, Morningstar, and thesmallcapinvestor.com.
